To continue this discussion, please ask a new question. This is true, but I thought I would point him in a direction of some sort of solution if he was desperate :D. If the information was crucial you'd hope that there would be a second copy or a note of the password somewhere secure. What tools do you have access to? You could use EnCase or a program like that if the information you needed was crucial. Did you "register" the Drive with WD? It can be defeated by imaging the drive to a non-WD drive.
